Hi! My name is Amin Sarkhil, and I am attending Sheridan College to get a bachelor's degree in business administration. I finished Sheridan's advanced diploma program in marketing before beginning this one. I attended John Fraser Secondary School in Mississauga before that. I was not nearly as motivated as I am today when I was in high school. In fact, I had to take an extra semester to earn enough credits to graduate because of how poorly I was doing academically. Since then, I've changed a lot about how I approach my regular tasks. My time management abilities have greatly improved, and they have been beneficial in both academic and professional situations. I used to struggle a lot in this area, which is why I struggled with my grades in the beginning of my studies. Things changed for the better quite quickly as I learned more about my learning preferences, the projects I liked working on, and my skills. I'm proud to say I've seen improvements every year while finishing my BBA at Sheridan. Now I feel as both a student and employee I can be described as creative, driven and organized. In fact, I have created a full presentation for you to view discussing my Personal Identity journey in further detail. Please click here to view it and learn more about me!

My Inspirations:

Since I was a child I've always been fascinated with art of all forms. When it came to video games I was always very focused on the visual/graphic design. When it came to music I was always looking for the most groundbreaking and "different" artists I could find, and I always had a passion for acting. Some of the musical artists that have really influenced me include but are not limited to Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Pharell Williams, LiL Wayne, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Kurt Cobain/Nirvana. One thing all these musicians have in common is they were never followers. They didn't care about trends, instead, they believed in their art and really pushed boundaries, and all of these artists are now known as innovators that pushed each of their respective genres to new heights. As far as more traditional graphical artists go my inspirations include Shigeru Miyamoto (creator of Mario, Zelda etc), Brian Donely (also known as Kaws), Raf Simmons (fashion designer), Maison Margiela (fashion designer), Nigo (designer/creator of Bape) and again Kanye west for his many design projects. All these artists I mentioned have influenced my creativity in some form and essentially helped mold me into who I am today. Most of them are and were also great at business which really excites me because it means I don't necessarily have to conform to large corporations in order to be a successful businessman like I know I will be one day! These artists and their work have inspired me, as evidenced by some of the images and artifacts on the right side of this page. The last item is a quote from Kanye West near the bottom of the page, which I believe to be quite significant. Many people stop pushing themselves to advance in their professional careers because they get too comfortable early on. Every single day, I aspire to advance and flourish!
